Social Distancing Trip Anyone? 3 Ways to Travel!

July 21, 2020

There’s no question that 2020 has brought a lot of uncertainty and has been mentally straining for everyone. With everything that’s going on in the world right now, creating separation can be key to making sure you’re in a good head space.

This is why we recommend a social distancing trip! Some may wonder if a social distancing trip is warranted. Possible? Safe? Worth it? We say absolutely! There are ways to escape feeling trapped in your home for a low cost and can be done anywhere.

Below we explore ways to take a trip during this time of distancing while being safe.

Day Trip

Want to travel somewhere that doesn’t have much risk such as flying? Take a day trip! Day trips can be done just like the name suggests, in one day, while keeping your distance from others. Hop in the car with family and visit historic sites, outdoor attractions, or go engage in outdoor recreation.

This avoids the cost of buying a hotel room and limits your contact with other visitors as well. Want to avoid eating out? You can easily pack sandwiches and enjoy a nice picnic while you’re out!

Staycation

Nothing wrong with going back to the basics and enjoying a nice staycation in your hometown! Hotels are very affordable now due to a huge decline in visitors since the pandemic started. Grab a room in one of your favorite hotels with your family and enjoy some time away from home. Do this while keeping a safe distance from other visitors who may be inside the hotel as well.

Order take out from new restaurants nearby, or even from the hotel. Enjoy movies or other activities that are available on the premises. Sometimes, a change of scenery and a different routine is all you need to escape reality and maintain a good headspace.

Virtual Tours

Everything has been moved online recently to keep individuals safe. This includes activities that are usually done in person. Miss going to the Aquarium, zoo, or museum? Not a problem! Many of these establishments are offering virtual tours that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home.
